Screenshot Redactor

Screenshot Redactor removes secrets from screenshots before they leave your PC. Open a PNG, JPEG, BMP, WebP, GIF or TIFF, drag boxes over account numbers, tokens, names or chat lines, pick black, pixelate or blur, and export.

The export is a new PNG beside the original (the original is never touched), rebuilt from raw pixels so no EXIF, ICC profile, XMP or PNG text chunk survives. The tool then verifies its own output: raw chunk scan, zero EXIF tags, every box changed, every pixel outside the boxes identical. Blur shrinks the region first, so it cannot be sharpened back into text.

A command-line tool is included for scripts: repeat --rect for each box, add --detect to auto-suggest text lines (a heuristic, not OCR, so review before sharing), --json for a machine-readable result, and exit code 0 only when verification passed.
